Planned Giving

Make a gift for generations to come.

Join the Jane Libby Legacy Society

Jane Libby was an artist who left a legacy at Essex Art Center through a bequest. Her generosity supported the Center's mission to keep the cost of classes affordable and allowed for the improvement of our ceramics facility, including equipment and storage upgrades. The generosity of Jane and many like-minded people in the decades since our inception has enabled Essex Art Center to flourish as a place where artists can learn, grow, and share their work. We invite you to become a part of this legacy by making a planned gift of your own to Essex Art Center.

There are many ways to make a lasting gift to Essex Art Center. Some of the most common ways include bequests, gifts of a life insurance policy or IRAs, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, and gifts of real estate. Essex Art Center recommends discussing your gift plans with your financial and legal advisers. We are happy to discuss your plans and would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your goals for your gift.

Make a gift in your will

Naming Essex Art Center as a beneficiary of a will, a trust, a retirement fund, or a life insurance policy is a remarkable way to leave a legacy.

Sample Bequest Language:

I give [the sum of $ or percentage] of my estate to Essex Art Center, a Massachusetts not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization having an address of 56 Island Street #1, Lawrence, MA 01840, to be used to support the mission of Essex Art Center.

If you have a fully paid insurance policy you no longer need, you can gift the policy to Essex Art Center and take a tax deduction for the policy's value at the time of the gift.

Gifts from a Traditional IRA
